Things To Consider

Things to consider when choosing a summer day camp for your child

  • Types of camps – what type of camp meets your child’s needs and personality?
  • Group Size – what is the staff and camper ratio for each age level?
  • Program Activities – Is there an organized schedule of daily events, and what activities are offered?
  • Staff – Is the staff qualified and trained for this type of program?
  • Hours of Operation – do they meet your family needs?
  • Cost – Does the cost of the camp fit into your budget? Are there extra hidden costs?
  • Transportation – Does the camp provide transportation? What is the form of transportation and what qualifications does the driver have?
  • Health and Safety Issues – closest hospital, first aid procedures, life jackets and helmets available, insurance coverage, refrigeration for food.
  • Visit the camp – check the facility out yourself before sending your child.
